EZcal Max offers significant improvements over the older EZcal Pro, including the following:
- Faster in many ways
- CANBUS support added with automatic bus speed detection, live message viewing, logging of all or selected messages, and even playback of logged messages
- MODE button allows instant switching between controller menus, EZcal Max menus, and CANBUS (when supported), without losing controller menu / access level on return
- SAVE can be very fast on newer controllers (just 2-3s for repeated SAVEs)
- QSAVE (press LEFT/RIGHT together in any controller menu) does SAVE without leaving controller menus
- PGFLASH can be up to 30% faster
- QUICKLOG can be very fast on newer controllers
- Wider 18 character display, with optional chinese character support
- Last entered filename remembered for SAVE / QUICKLOG / GETCURVE
- Most recently used (or most recently added) file offered first for PGFLASH / LOAD
- PGVERIFY allows comparison of controller code against file
- LOADCOMPARE allows comparison of controller adjustments / setups against file
- EZcal Max can be updated without using a program, on any PC/Mac
Further differences listed below:
- PGFLASH offers “SKIP” if file matches what is already in controller
- File sequencing numbers all created files to identify more recent, no need to enter a new filename every time (applies to SAVE, QSAVE, QUICKLOG, GETCURVE)
- Automatic SNAPSHOT precedes SAVEs, capturing controller data as fast as possible
- ? (quick view) button offers latched and multi displays (up to three values can be shown at the same time)
- QUICKLOG offers multiple separate configurations
- CANBUS support includes arbitrary program execution to support functions like device simulation, configuration of node ID and bus speed when supported, and even CANFLASH updating of some controllers
- FILEDELETE available to delete un-needed files (prompted automatically if storage gets too low)
